Artistic Director and CEO of the Berliner Festspiele (a division of Kulturveranstaltungen des Bundes in Berlin GmbH). From 2013 to 2022 he served as Artistic Director and CEO of the international production house Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt am Main. Previously, he was Chief Dramaturg of the Wiener Festwochen (2010–2013), co-founder and co-director of the international production office prod.art.br in São Paulo (2004–2010), programme dramaturg of the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen (2003–2004), and dramaturg at Schauspiel Hannover (2000–2003) as well as at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin (1995–2000). Before turning fully to theatre, he worked as a cultural journalist and theatre critic. His work has focused on global perspectives, collaborative modes, transformative artistic practices, and questions of solidarity, postcolonialism, and the relationship between internationality and diversity. He has initiated and co-created numerous large-scale interdisciplinary festivals and projects, among others with Ensemble Modern, the Jewish Museum Frankfurt, the Hessisches Staatsballett, and Schauspiel Frankfurt. He is also a member of the executive board of KBB GmbH alongside Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, Tricia Tuttle, and Charlotte Sieben.
