With censorship and self-censorship intensifying in Europe, Stefani Carp poses a thought-provoking question: What happens when there is no longer space for provocation and/or di- versity of expression? To what extent do artists and curators consciously or unconsciously censor themselves? How often does fear of losing work, commissions, or reputation – especially in the age of social platforms – drive them into self-limitation? Are we truly free in expressing ourselves, or are democratic spaces for dialogue continuing to shrink? Participants from diverse cultural and creative backgrounds will use the panel to share personal experiences and discuss whether you can still be brave without harming yourself.
