A multidisciplinary project seamlessly merging the world of theatre with sports, documentary, and music. Besides the actors participating in the performance, you will hear the voices of prominent figures from the Polish sports scene. This is quite understandable, as, in this production, the primary focus of the Barakah, a place and community boldly exploring issues vital to the LGBTQ+ community and advocating for breaking down the boundaries of intolerance in Polish society, is Caitlyn Jenner – an American media personality, known e.g., from the Kardashian family reality show and as an Olympic men’s decathlon champion at the 1976 Montreal Games. The creative team investigate her life’s journey on the way to transition. They explore her relationship with her former wife, Kris, and ask questions about the origins of identity. Who am I in the face of all these changes? Who am I to myself, and how do others perceive me? They courageously confront the traumas of alienation, rejection, loneliness, the fear of being different, and stigmatisation. The performance becomes a shared experience for both the authors and the audience, to which we are all invited, each with our own life experiences.
