Probably the most remarkable performance in Krystyna Janda’s entire oeuvre. The great actress prepared it for her seventieth birthday, as a unique way to wrap up her life in the arts. It speaks of her family roots, the entrance exam she took for the Warsaw State Theatre School (PWST), which she took without ever planning it, as she initially rather intended to pursue her interest in the visual arts, and her most important professors. It is about the theatres she has been associated with, her friends and mentors, most notably Andrzej Wajda. Everything is presented in a light anecdotal form, sparkling with wit. My Way is also a story about Janda’s private life, lived on her own terms, sometimes struggling with the most mundane matters. It touches on love and bereavement, as one of the most important figures in the performance is her late husband, the renowned cinematographer Edward Kłosiński. It is also about the Polonia Theatre from the time it was built to the present day. In the briefest of the brief: it is a tale of a life lived with passion and on its owner’s terms. Even today, when Polish reality instils Janda with sorrow and fear. Tickets at the Polonia Theatre are sold out, and the production is successfully touring the entire country. Unforgettable.

→ after the performance, a meeting with the creators is led by: Tomasz Domagała. Marzena Sadocha and Krzysztof Mieszkowski will also take part in the conversation.
